Dear Team,

…today is day 2 of my “holy … I need to be unlazy before Jan. 5th” program.  I designed it myself.

Anyway, I’ve only been able to bang up on a squash court a few times because my squash buddy did a nasty thing to his foot bones while he was hell of intoxicated.  I would tell him to get a robot ankle but idk where?

When I bought this postcard I did not realize the slightly toasted baby is the future king of Denmark!  Wut a hottie (Meg agrees).

Remember: low expectations are the key to happiness!!

Stay fly,

Liz

Smith Squash Now Has a Spirit Mark & an Icon!

December 14, 2008

The Smith College Squash Team has been using Rosie the Rivetter as its representative symbo/icon for the past two years – since Coach Tim Bacon (a radical feminist) discovered that Rosie’s famous picture copyright had expired.  The team immediately made up some t-shirts (for the U.S. Women’s Colleges Squash Champs).

Now Smith College has developed (with student-athlete and Faculty input) a “Spirit Mark” (enlightened term for “Mascot”). The team is now in the unique position of having a “retro” icon – Smith College had the first women’s basketball team, and was the first member of the NCAA; and a futuristic icon – representative of the innovative direction the College is heading (Engineering program, global perspective, social responsibility, etc.) to  help its students lead the world out of its difficulties.
